Boehner’s Social Trouble: Claims He \’Hasn\’t Met Anyone Who Supports Public Option

boehner being a jack ass as usual

Republican Minority Leader, John Boehner (R-Ohio) must be having some serious social problems these days. With such a lovely mug and wonderful scowl, who would have guessed? He declared today that he hasn’t met one “Real American” who supports the Public Option. As political writer Glenn Thrush noted, he said it with a “semi-straight face”.

Even Republican leaning polls (which effectively ask “Do you still support a Public Option if it radically alters your health experience, which is so laughably deceitful but anyway) still claim at least 43% in favor of a Public Option. So in order to believe that he has not met a single one we must assume that he’s been hanging around with nothing but tea-baggers lately. LOL

“I’m still trying to find the first American to talk to who’s in favor of the public option” claims the Boehner.

When you are in a position to miss as much as %65 of the country, it is clear that you’ve fallen in with the wrong crowd.

So I decided to correct this little problem and introduce myself to the ill-informed Republican Leader. You can warm his cold lonely heart too, by going here.

Let him know that you sincerely care about his social troubles and that you would be happy to be counted among the “Real” Americans that support the Public Option.

It may be what’s best for him.

Here is my ‘pick-me-up’ letter:

Mr. Minority Leader,

I heard you haven’t met any real Americans who supported the Public Option. Well, just between us, we both know that is a lie. That being said, just in case, let me introduce you to one more “Real” American who DOES support the Public Option.

I am a taxpaying American, I vote, I care deeply for my country and I have many friends and family that have fought for this country, a few even gave their life. My family has roots here that go back to the time of Washington, we have strong roots in the Native American community and our sweat and tears have helped make this country a better place. We have lived the American Dream and believe in it.

To be warded off as not a “Real” American is an insult to everything this nation stands for. Our founding fathers believed in political discourse, and it’s the very thing that affords you your own opinion not to mention, your ability to stand on a soapbox and tell Americans a statement that is so outlandish, it cannot possibly be true.

You have been given an amazing gift, the ability to speak to the American people on what is perhaps the most important issue of our time. This is how you repay the American voters who put you in office?

It is this type of eccentric behavior that I have come to expect from the Republican Party. They have no Health Insurance reform of their own and simply want to win at all costs without ever compromising.

If you don’t think the American people can see it, than you need to look at polls that aren’t altered to fit your opinion.

You have already doomed your hopes at ever capturing the votes of people like me. What’s more is that your commitment to winning short term political battles may doom your chances in 2010 and beyond.

Perhaps this is what is best for the country, as we need a sensible opposition in a Democracy. Your inability to do so and your continued commitment to divisive political rhetoric are a black mark on our nation’s political discourse.

Since you seem to see this issue as a game, I wish you luck. I pray for the sake of this nation, however, that you lose.
