Idiot in Chief

bush with the upside down book, bush is a moron Comedian Leslie Neilson, of Naked Gun fame, could not play a better idiot than the character current President, George W. Bush plays every day. At the recent APEC summit, ol’ W. lived up to his reputation as idiot in chief by first referring to the APEC summit as the “OPEC” summit, then calling Australian troops “Austrian”.

I mean I know we all make mistakes, we all blunder sometimes. Slick Willie Clinton even f’d up a few times once in the State of the Union saying he wanted to make our neighborhoods more liberal instead of livable. Kerry’s botched joke was also a colossal blunder.

However, these guys have nothing on Bush, who is the reigning champion of engaging the mouth without proper coordination of the brain. We can’t forget his being caught on mic once talking smack about a NY Times reporter, the time he got caught on mic at the G-8 acting the fool and of course my personal favorite, the time he told a group of Japanese investors he planned to devalue the Yen instead of deflate it. The gaffe cost the Japanese stock market a faux crash (which was resolved when the mistake was cleared).

bush is a complete and utter idiot Like the aforementioned blunders before, this recent stint received little coverage. He’s had a press corps that has been as generous to his limited mental capacity as the FDR press corps was to his paralysis. Is it even funny anymore? It’s really one of the saddest facts about our country, that this moron represents the most powerful nation on the planet. Maybe it’s a sign that we’re losing our edge?

I’m not an idiot but I play one on TV
Is it just an act to play to the heartland? You really do gotta wonder. Meanwhile he’s becoming increasingly irrelevant as even Republican Presidential Candidates recognize his policies as failure. Is he really playing an idiot like so many people believe? Or maybe he really is an idiot, and that’s just an excuse.

I do honestly believe Bush is smarter than he leads on to be, but he leads on to be a complete and absolute moron so that isn’t saying a whole lot. The real proof is in the record.

What has he achieved?

Lets measure the success of our President by the time tested standard of the State of the Union.
We are at war, indefinitely, and losing.
Jobs are dramatically decreasing according to today’s recent Labor Dept. statistic.
Health care is in shambles.
Inflation is on the rise.
Gas prices are comparable to the 70’s fuel crisis.
Large quantities of our debt are owed to enemies like China
The nation is divided culturally
International terrorists responsible for Sept. 11 are still at large
Disaster preparedness so low, people have lost faith in the institution of FEMA.
Homeland Security in poor condition as determined by the non-partisan G.A.O.
Attorney General, Chief Political Advisor, Sec. of Defense, and a myriad of others had to leave the Bush Administration due to questions of incompetence and/or illegal actions.

With a record like that, there is no doubt of Bush’s intelligence. It speaks volumes not just of him, but of the people he keeps around him and his judgment of picking people to keep in his inner circle, a key to not just securing power, but to using it wisely.

With the house of cards beginning to fall, the incredible shrinking president may not even make it to the end of his term. If he does, it’s only because America wants to move on from what may soon be called the worse Presidency in American history.

I know I’m counting the days.
